So what do upside down cards mean?

pagan-tides:

That really depends on you. An upside down, or reversed card, is considered by some to ‘weaken’ the meaning of a card. For example, a reversed Ten of Cups could indicate the involvement of family, but not the familial bliss the card portrays.

Personally, I don’t use reversals at the moment, because I prefer to let my intuition tell me how to interpret a card. All cards have both positive and negative aspects: the Ten of Cups could also mean a smothering family with high ideals. It depends very much on the context of the other cards in the reading, and the question asked.

Experiment with both approaches, you’ll soon know which you prefer. ❇
